Jeff Schmich - Mandolin and Percussion
- Jeff Schmich has been studying Mandolin for over thirty years. Playing also percussion, guitar, and banjo he was an original member of "The Pep Boys" Bluegrass band, a member of the "Brewflies", and also founded "The Evening Edition String Quartet".
Mark Murphy - Bass and Cello
Mark grew up in a musical family; his dad was a public school music educator and he and Mark’s mom still perform together in contradance bands. Mark started playing cello in 3rd grade, electric bass in 10th, then upright bass at SUNY Fredonia. Graduating in 1981 with a degree in art, he dived into professional music with Walt Michael, Tom McCreesh and Company, with whom he’s appeared on Nashville Network’s Fire on the Mountain and NPR’sPrairie Home Companion. He has performed with Pilobilus Dance Company and has headlined shows ranging from the Carter Family Fold to Lincoln Center.
With the Vanaver Caravan, he has performed at Lincoln Center and the United Nations, and was part of the cast filmed for their historic dance reconstruction, “Boston Fancy,” which was inducted into the National Archives. He has backed up blues artist Guy Davis (a W.C. Handy Award nominee) on Late Night With Conan O’Brien and on tour in Europe. He has toured and recorded in the U.S., Canada and Europe.

Lynn Volpe - Flute
- Lynn Volpe has been playing Flute for about 18 years. After many years of NYSSMA and SCMEA in her High School career Lynn joined the Long Island Flute Club and played in many flute ensembles.
- She has also studied with some of the top flute instructors on Long Island including Mark Barton, and Jennifer Hailey. As well as playing the flute Lynn has also been in Jazz Bands performing on the Tenor Saxaphone.
Larry Newcomb - Guitar
- Larry Newcomb played lead guitar in the touring bands of hitmakers including Peter Noone (Hermans Hermits), Leslie Gore, Lou Christie, Billy J. Kramer, Tommy Cash, Darlene Austin, Tom Grant, and Jimmy Payne. Currently, Larry performs in solo, duo, trio, and quartet settings in the New York City, New York State, and Florida.
- He also teaches guitar students of all ages, experience levels, and stylistic preferences at Newcomb Guitar School in the Morningside Heights Columbia University community. Larry founded the Newcomb Guitar Method in 1985 and is the director of Guitar Ensembles at Our Lady of Pompeii School in New York City.
